Computation
and Simulation - CAE
Nowadays
it is difficult to imagine product development without "finite element methods" (FEM).
This way expensive tests, especially in the early phases of development,
can be simulated and analysed on the computer and the further development
set on the right tracks.
Our speciality
is crash analysis. Our strong points are component and sub-system
simulation and, working in close cooperation with our design
and test department,
we can offer here one-stop solutions.
Crash simulation
Exterior
components (core competence!)
- Bumper collision in accordance with the requirements of ECE,
FMVSS, CVMSS, ….)
- Pedestrian protection in accordance with Euro-NCAP and EEVC PH1 & PH2
- Indentation of the door, roof and B-column (dynamic & quasi-static)
- Bonnets
- Pole collision
• Vehicle interiors
- Seating structures
- Car interior components
- Instrument panels and steering mechanisms
- Iso-Fix
• Total crash
- Head-on collision
- Rear collision
- Lateral collision
• Special fields (closely linked to tests)
- Impactors and barriers
- Development of material and biomechanic models
We have our own specially developed databases:
• Legal and public crash performance
standards (esp. sub-systems)
• Material data with verified material models
• Impactor database

Structural
and Parameter Optimisation
In order to maximise the optimisation potential of new developments
we apply parameter studies and efficient test planning with the
help of statistical methods (DoE/Statistica) in both linear and
non-linear calculations, and applying the appropriate tools.
