The company was founded as a private limited company in November 1998 by Professor Thilo Roeth. The first offices were in Adlerberg 1, in Aachen-Burtscheid.

As an independent engineering service company Imperia GmbH has since then provided an experienced and high-qualified team which backs both renowned automotive manufacturers and component suppliers in the development of car body systems.

In February 2001 Imperia GmbH opened its own prototype laboratory. Since its establishment Imperia GmbH has continued to expand.

This expansion meant a move to a new location in May 2003 in an old and beautifully renovated factory building in Soerser Weg 9, 52070 Aachen.

The high quality standards Imperia GmbH has in the service sector has also been acknowledged by the certification in compliance with DIN EN ISO 9001 in 2003.

Now in 2005 we have six times as many staff members, and Imperia GmbH develops new and own technologies together with partners.
